Annual Review 2017

It is a great tradition to briefly constitute what we have achieved at the end of each year together with the FG ProQ team and share it with friends and Co-operation partners.

In June 2017 on the occasion of “Bergisches Qualitätsforum (BQF)” (Local area Quality Forum), which has been managed responsibly in DELPHI Company by our research group, we were able to discuss the future topics of Quality with nearly 100 participants. In parallel we succeeded to earn three Germany scholarships. Therefore three young students have the opportunity to study in M. Sc. Quality Engineering (MScQ). The BQF had a favorable resonance so that we and our partners, IHK, IQZ, BSW and local circle of VDI and DGQ agreed to do it in 2019, again.

Aside from this great event, we could also cope our ordinary tasks in teaching and research in a good quality.

In Research, we worked intensive in both research projects of DFG. The project “ReMaiN” (Link ReMaiN) will develop an approach for controlling the requirements in Companies’ network. Companies, which are interested in discussing these results with us, are welcome to contact us. If you are interested in participating in our industrial survey in the ReMaiN project, you will find the questionnaire at the following Link (Industrial Survey ReMaiN).The project “KAUSAL” (Link KAUSAL) provides an article for analysis of causal failure chain of mechatronic systems. The results of this projects are followed by numerous national and international publications (Publications of FG ProQ).

One of our main tasks related to Teaching was the process of re-accredit of the Faculty 7’s study programs. The inspection within the re-accredit process will be held in January 2018. This would put the MScQ in successful re-accreditation for the third time in a row. Thus, a continuation of this unique university degree program in Germany is at the University of Wuppertal possible.

The additional Qualifications were also gladly accepted in this year by the students. Consequently 20 students acquired the Excellence Assessor, 16 students the Six Sigma Green Belt and 6 students QSMJ. Furthermore, we carried out with the Technical Academy Wuppertal (TAW) another additional qualification, the supplier auditor (= Lieferantenauditor), which completed by 16 students.

In addition to all these activities, the relocation to the new building was successfully completed by the entire team. You will find us now in building W on floor 9. Thus, we are pleased to be able to offer the students, but also our colleagues, in our new rooms a better work atmosphere.

In 2018, in addition to the consolidation of our previously mentioned areas of responsibility, we will increasingly look after junior scientists as well as the Bergische innovation hub. We look forward to working with you profitably.
