2015 started for us with a highlight. It was an honor for being the host of the long-standing successful GQW-meeting (GQW = Association for Quality Science) and the Bergisches Qualitätsforum (Local area Quality Forum) at the company Schaeffler Technologies AG &b Co. KG in Wuppertal.

During this event, it was possible for the participants to get in touch with each other and the lively discussion with the topic “quality methods in discourse between science and practice”. Moreover, the meeting could finance four students a scholarship of the University of Wuppertal. Our EU-Project K-Vec (rapid chargingsystem for buses) was successfully completed at the beginning of the year. In this project, we assessed the risk of driving with high-performance capacitors during product development (see project K-Vec).

In the EU-project aim4it, we work together with a large international network to develop a public mass transport system, which is accessibly for all groups of society, especially for people with mobility disabilities (see project aim4it).

Furthermore, we received the confirmation for the DFG-Project KAUSAL, in which we will model logical error-chains and analyze them with combined methods of risk assessment.

25 new students for the Masterprogram “Quality Engineering” and 21 participants for the training of the Excellence Assessor (new record number) are persuasive numbers for the academic teaching.
